In these pieces I explore self-portraiture through abstract sculpture and performance. I seek to expand the definition of self-portraiture and alter the visual language used in association with the body. Through my use of body as collaborator, muse, and medium, I challenge viewers to dismiss conceptions about the body that they may have previously thought to be certain. My ultimate goal is to explore existential questions of a body's importance through the abstraction of implicit truths. This personal investigation is intended to be a lifelong endeavor; as my body changes with time, so will my work.
